¿Quiénes somos?: ALDES se fundó en 2012 y es una ONG ubicada en San Salvador. Nuestra misión es promover la salud,
seguridad, dignidad y derechos humanos de la comunidad LGBTI en El Salvador a
través de su empoderamiento legal.
Trabajamos sobre la base de que la discriminación en contra de las
personas LGBTI, incluso aquellas que son VIH positivas, va en contra de los
principios de derechos humanos internacionalmente aceptados.
Nuestro trabajo: Actualmente, ALDES está organizando la primera conferencia sobre derechos humanos LGBTI en la historia de El Salvador, que tendrá lugar en la Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas en marzo de 2013, y a la cual asistirán activistas, abogados y funcionarios nacionales e internacionales.
Nuestra exhibición de arte, Voces Desde El Silencio, que aborda cuatro temas - homofobia, impunidad, machismo y bullying - tendrá lugar en el Museo Tecleno (MUTE) el 18-22 febrero 2013.
ALDES lleva a cabo
proyectos de investigación sobre las violaciones de derechos humanos LGBTI en El
Salvador, y organiza eventos de sensibilización y educación sobre derechos
humanos LGBTI.
Tenemos una red de partidarios
internacionales a través de cual movilizamos apoyo, defensa y solidaridad con
la comunidad LGBTI en El Salvador.
Objetivos a largo plazo: En el futuro, ALDES espera poder proveer servicios legales gratuitos a la comunidad LGBTI en general. Queremos desarrollar la capacidad de presentar denuncias a las instituciones salvadoreñas encargadas de la protección de derechos humanos y llevar litigio estratégico en un nivel regional.

An Introduction to ALDES
Who are we?: ALDES was founded in 2012 and is an NGO based in San Salvador. Our mission is to promote the health, security, dignity and human rights of the LGBTI community in El Salvador through the legal empowerment of LGBTI individuals. We work on the basis that discrimination against members of the LGBTI community, including those who are HIV positive, is contrary to internationally accepted human rights principles.
Our work: ALDES is currently organising the first ever LGBTI rights conference in El Salvador's history, which will take place at the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas in San Salvador in March 2013, and will be attended by activists, lawyers and officials from El Salvador and overseas.
Our art exhibition, Voices from the Silence, which tackles four themes - homophobia, impunity, machismo and bullying - will take place in San Salvador from the 18th to the 22nd of February 2013.
ALDES carries out research projects into LGBTI rights violations in El Salvador, and organises education and awareness raising events.
We have a network of international supporters through which we mobilise the assistance, advocacy and solidarity of the international community.
Long term objectives: In the future, ALDES hopes to be able to provide free legal services to the LGBTI community as a whole. We want to develop the capacity to bring denunciations before Salvadoran institutions charged with the protection of human rights at the national level and to bring strategic litigation at a regional level.
