¿A qué te dedicas?
Estudio en la Universidad Don Bosco en multimedia, y mi pseudónimo es Fátima Chavz.
¿Cuánto tiempo llevas trabajando en temas de diseño?
Dos años, desde que comencé mi carrera de multimedia en la universidad.
¿Qué fue lo que te motivó a optar por el tema
de la lucha contra la homofobia dentro de los cuatro que habíamos propuesto?
Bueno,
yo soy homosexual, entonces mucha gente a mi alrededor son un ambiente algo
homofóbica, de parte también de mi familia. Entonces mi familia no sabe que
hice este afiche. Fue un gran paso hacer esto porque para empezar, lo hice más
que todo para mi mamá, porque ella es la más homofóbica de mi familia y también
porque quiero un ambiente de aceptación mas en este país.
¿Qué fue lo que te motivó participar en el
concurso?
Yo
siempre he querido participar en esto de los movimientos homosexuales, la
comunidad. Entonces, no sé. Me gusta ser parte de esta comunidad y aportar algo
a la aceptación de nosotros.
¿Qué significa para ti el diseño que has
propuesto?
Bueno,
para empezar es bien personal porque yo salgo allí. Yo pretendo decirle porque
tu vas a odiar a alguien si es feliz, si tu eres feliz tal como eres y nadie te
odia? Más que todo es eso, de que la aceptación entre todos nosotros.
¿Cuál es la esperanza que vos tenés para la
comunidad LGBTI en El Salvador?
Una
comunidad libre, y que se hagan valer nuestros derechos como todos los demás.
Que no hayan esas injusticias, porque aquí hay mucha homofobia aquí en nuestro
país. Que fuera mas abierta a ese tema.
¿Hay algún sitio de web donde publicas las
cosas que haces para que la gente pueda ver lo que has hecho?
En
mi facebook tengo imágenes así. También, como estudio fotografía, en flickr y
en tumblr.//

do you do?
I am a student in Multimedia at Don Bosco
University.
For
how long have you been working in design?
For two years, since I started my studies
in multimedia at the university.
What
motivated you to choose the theme of fighting against homophobia among the four
themes that we had proposed?
Well, I am homosexual, and a lot of people
around me are somewhat homophobic, especially my family. So my family does not
know I did this poster. It was a big step to be able to do this because, to
start with, I did it more than anything for my mom because she is the most
homophobic one in my family. I also did it because I wanted a more accepting
environment in El Salvador.
What
motivated you to participate in the competition?
I have always wanted to participate in the
homosexual movement, in the community. I don’t know, I like being part of this
community and to contribute something to our acceptance.
What
does the design you have made mean to you?
Well to start with, it is very personal
because I am on the poster. I am trying to say, “Why are you going to hate
someone if they are happy, if you are happy just the way you are and no one
hates you?” It is so that there is more acceptance among us.
What
hopes do you have for the LGBTI community here in El Salvador?
A free community, in which our rights are
valued just like everyone else’s. That there wouldn’t be any injustices,
because there is a lot of homophobia here. That people would be more open to
that subject.
Is
there some website where people can see the work you have done?
On
my facebook I have some images. I also study photography, so on flickr and tumblr
too.
